A must-attend event for any fans of the man himself, his films, or champions of underground cinema. That’s right, it’s John Waters LIVE! w/ PECKER!
John Waters has hand-picked his so-called “nice movie” PECKER to screen and he will be accompanying the film with a live talk-back of all the juicy answers about the film to questions you never thought to ask. He’s welcoming you, the filthiest people alive, to join us for a peek into the mind of the man responsible for films such as Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, and, of course, Pecker! Immediately following the film he will be joined by programmer Weird Alice for an in-depth conversation about the film and so much more. Lucky VIP ticket holders will get to stick around afterwards for a very special “Group Therapy” Q&A session and get their photo taken with the man himself by a professional photographer, and take home their very own signed risograph print of our poster.
PECKER (1998) is a feel-good movie about lesbian strippers, pubic-hair harassment, and amateur photography starring Edward Furlong and Christina Ricci. He Never Realized How Far 35mm would take him. Pecker (Edward Furlong) plays a Baltimore teenager who picks up a second-hand camera and starts snapping his way to stardom. Soon after, he turns into a nationwide sensation and has to choose between his life and his art. It’s the only movie out there that includes tea-bagging, sugar addictions, talking Virgin Mary statues, and rodent sex!
