Cineplex Odeon Grande Prairie

Part of the Gateway Power Centre in central Grande Prairie, this ten-screen theatre holds smaller auditoriums (the largest seats only 183) but still shows the latest entertainment offerings with the accompaniment of digital sound and good sightlines due to stadium seating. The theatre opened in 1998, and in 2007, the theatre’s staff began an online review blog where patrons could comment about and review the movies they saw. On June 11, 2011, the Cinemas hosted a morning event featuring free movies and sold the proceeds of concession items to the Canadian Red Cross in support of Slave Lake residents, in the wake of fires in that nearby region.
