Galaxy Cinemas Peterborough

The 11-screen Galaxy is a popular getaway for families during the summer, as the “cottage country” crowd packs the heart of Peterborough. Built in 2000 in the Peterborough Square Mall, and replacing an Eaton’s store, the multiplex commonly gets both the typical mainstream films, as well as one-night-only events and attractions, such performances from the Broadway stage, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and beyond. Complete with party rooms, fast food and arcades games, the Galaxy is also one of the only theatres in the “cottage country” area to feature stadium seating, and close to 2,400 audience members can enjoy the entertainment at once. With its ultra-modern stylings lying adjacent to the old-fashioned Market Hall, the theatre has helped to invigorate the town with new, ultramodern blood.
